The Long Building
The Long Building at Suankularb Wittayalai School is one of the most iconic and historic structures on the campus. Built during the early development of the school in the late 19th to early 20th century, the building reflects traditional educational architecture of that era. It has long corridors and rows of classrooms that have been used by generations of students for over a century. The Long Building is not only an important place for learning but also a symbol of the school’s long history, pride, and traditions, representing the legacy of one of Thailand’s oldest and most prestigious secondary schools.
Our Founder
Chulalongkorn founded Suankularb Wittayalai School in 1882 during the early period of educational reform in Thailand. The school was originally established within the royal palace area known as “Suankularb” (the Rose Garden) to provide modern education for royal pages and young nobles who served in the court. King Chulalongkorn aimed to introduce Western-style education to help develop knowledgeable officials and leaders for the modernization of the country. Over time, the school expanded and became one of the oldest and most prestigious secondary schools in Thailand.
